Dr. William J. Cole Jr.: Pioneering Restorative Medicine Without Drugs or Surgery
A Journey Born from Personal Experience
Dr. Cole's path to becoming a restorative medicine expert was shaped by his own health challenges. In 2003, a life-threatening car accident forced him to pivot from his initial career path as an orthopedic surgeon. This personal struggle led him to specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, completing his training at the NYU Rusk Institute in 2004.
His journey didn't end there. In 2013, Dr. Cole faced another health crisis when a cervical decompression surgery nearly left him quadriplegic. Rather than opting for a traditional four-level cervical fusion with its low success rate, he turned to restorative treatments. The success of these treatments in his own recovery further fueled his passion for restorative medicine.
Pioneering Restorative Therapies
For nearly two decades, Dr. Cole has built a successful practice focused on outpatient-based restorative and orthopedic medicine. His approach is summed up in his motto: "FIND IT, and FIX IT." This philosophy aims to get patients back to their lives faster and with improved function compared to traditional medical approaches.
Dr. Cole specializes in advanced restorative therapies for joints, muscles, tendons, spine, and nerves. His treatments include:
- Ultra PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy
- "SMART" Cell Nano Particle Treatments
- Fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventions
With over 60,000 procedures performed throughout his career, Dr. Cole has developed significant expertise in these cutting-edge treatments.
Innovative Approaches to Pain Management
One of Dr. Cole's major innovations is "The Sciatica Solution," part of his kNOw PAIN® approach. This method has successfully diagnosed and treated over 10,000 patients with complex and elusive disorders.
Dr. Cole has also pioneered several adjunct therapies, including:
- Dr. Mary Jane: A medical-grade CBD product designed to reduce pain, spasms, anxiety, and insomnia without the unwanted effects of THC.
- A 16-component IV essential vitamin and mineral therapy: Developed from 66 NIH Coronavirus Studies, this treatment aims to boost immunity and prevent respiratory disorders.
Education and Professional Affiliations
Dr. Cole's commitment to advancing restorative medicine extends beyond his practice. For 16 years, he has served as an assistant clinical professor at LECOM in Bradenton, teaching conservative and interventional pain management alongside restorative medicine.
His professional affiliations include:
- Director of Orthopedic Medicine for the AASCM
- Member of numerous medical associations, including the American Osteopathic Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Academy of Pain Medicine
A Vision for the Future of Medicine
Dr. Cole's philosophy is clear: "The future of medicine is to have the body heal the body... naturally." His work in restorative medicine aims to stimulate the body's natural healing processes, offering hope to patients seeking alternatives to traditional drug-based or surgical interventions.
Through his practice, RegenaMed.US®, and his other ventures like OrthoMed® Pain & Sports Medicine and the kNOwPAIN Institute & Foundation®, Dr. Cole continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in restorative medicine. His dedication to improving patients' quality of life without relying on drugs or surgery is not just transforming individual lives—it's shaping the future of healthcare.
